# Long weekend in Kosovo-the last truly off-the-beaten-path destinations in Europe

16th May Friday to 19th May Monday 2025

Kosovo is probably one of the last truly off-the-beaten-path destinations in Europe. Due to its turbulent past, tourism in Kosovo is in its infancy. You rarely ran into other English-speaking travellers during your visit. In fact, most of the places you will visit still feel fairly untouched by tourism.

The journey starts with a morning flight on 16th May with Wizz air return ticket is under £ 72 with a small cabin bag.

The Best of Kosovo: 4 Days

Day 1: Arrival and transfer

We welcome you at Pristina Airport and private transfer to Pristina!
We visit two Ottoman period mosques of Pristina with probably the most beautiful, being the Fatih Mosque dating back to 1461 during the golden rule of Sultan Mehmet II. Its huge ceiling domed cupola crowns a splendidly painted floral interior of Arabesque design. Nearby is Pristina's oldest building, the Çarshia Mosque completed in 1389.
Dinner at a local restaurant with traditional local food!

Day 2: Western Kosovo highlights – Deqani, Junik, Gjakova & Rahoveci
Today we will head towards small city of Deqani and visit Orthodox Monastery-Unesco world heritage site and continue towards Junik for a visit to Great Tekke. Afterwards proceed to the beautiful Mirusha waterfalls for a peak at Kosovo’s wonderful natural landscape. Continue to Gjakova city for a great lunch at Grand Bazaar and after head towards the Rahoveci wine route for some wine and rakia tasting.
Transfer to Prizren for overnight stay. Dinner at Locals

Day 3: Prizren – Cultural capital of Kosovo
Museum city of Prizren -Seated at the foot of the Shar Mountains, Kosovo’s second city packs a heavy punch with its rich history, traditional handicraft shops and gastronomic delights. Situated at a major crossroad on the Balkan Peninsula, the town hosted a handful of empires, with Byzantine and Ottoman architecture leaving the most distinctive marks on the cityscape. Ottoman vibes can be felt especially around Shadervan – near this main, cobbled square you’ll find a great selection of bars and restaurants, as well as the lovely Sinan Pasha Mosque (one of over 44 mosques in the city) and the Old Stone Bridge, which dates back to the 16th century but was reconstructed in the 1980s after it was destroyed by a flood. Prizren castle visit at sunset for magnificent views. Transfer to Pristina. Dinner at a restaurant
